 THOUGHTS

Wonderband (in a galaxy far, far, away)

"Jablurk", we once called it. A mix between Jazz, Blues and Rock. Most of our playlist was from Bill's folk writing era, which we transformed into a clean, harder sounding treatment. Our trademark, it would seem, was well placed pauses and quick breaks in the songs that more than demonstrated our tightness with the music. The unique sounds were achieved in the open atmosphere of the band which enabled each musician to add the sounds we heard in our heads. The way the music effected us personally was accented in each of our performances. The fact that we were all so in tuned with each other and the music, our parts were born naturally out of what we believed was the perfect support of the song as a whole rather than a platform for showcasing our individual talents; although they came out just as naturally.

These were fun times and here are a few samples of what we recorded back in that era.  Some of it seems timeless and much is coming back in vogue.  This was pre-Springteen and Seeger (Bob, not Pete), and incorporated a sound that soon followed us. Nestled between the hard rock, falsetto squealing seventies and the MTV fueled British invasion of the eighties, this was pure core "Jablurk!"
